Only the participant will know the results if she/he doesn’t pass. If you don’t pass the first time, you should learn the rules and repeat the exam. You will be able to print a certificate if you obtain 70% or over.If you do not choose a response for a question, it will be marked as incorrect. If you pass the exam you will be provided with your score and information about what questions you got correct / incorrect. If you fail you will not receive a score or information of what questions you got correct / incorrect (to encourage you to go back and look at the rule book!!!) PLEASE FORWARD COPIES OF CERTIFICATES TO JENNY WAY Introductory Level Officiating General Principles CourseThe Australian Sports Commission (ASC) and Department of Sport & Recreation is pleased to announce that the online Introductory Level Officiating General Principles course is now available on the link below The course is aimed at beginner level officials, and covers three modules of training; Self Management, Managing the Competition Environment and People Management. The course takes approximately four hours to complete, and there is assessment included within the course. The online course is available free of charge to Australian officials. ALL candidates for National C will have to complete the above course.PLEASE FORWARD COPIES OF CERTIFICATES TO JENNY WAY Attributes of a Good UmpireConcentration - Remain focused for the entire game and not be distracted by friends or spectators. Awareness when play is the other umpire's half.Communication - Whistle - Voice - Hand Signals Confidence - Presentation as an Umpire i.e. correct attire, your stance, clear instructions and loud whistle.Consistency - Application of the rules eg obstruction, contact, 3 seconds. Commonsense & Approachability - Maintain a pleasant manner throughout the game.Remember to umpire in the spirit of the game. Safety for all. Be pleasant and considerate.

*************************** Blue Award Practical Education Participants need to have displayed an aptitude for umpiring during their Red Award Program. Minimum of 4-6 practice games under supervision/coaching. Games may be either training games or gala day games. White Award Skill Development Minimum age - turning 13 years of age. Successful Completion of Blue Award. Four supervised Competition Games. Participants remain at this level until their skill development is assessed as being competent to umpire a Junior A Grade game. There is no time limit. Once identified, these umpires are offered; Representative Carnival Attendance. Specialised coaching and mentoring throughout the season. Green Badge Minimum age - turning 13 years of age. Upon achievement, a Green level umpire can umpire Junior A Grade games. Gold Badge No minimum age. Current Section 1 Theory Pass. Umpiring Senior games at competent level. Upon achievement, a Gold level umpire can umpire up to A2 grade games.
Talent Identified Umpires Umpires are selected by BHSNA Umpires' Committee.
